M42-EOS flanged ring. Cheap and common. Pick a flanged ring that presses the auto-aperture pin. On full-frame EF DSLRs a few lenses (Helios 44-2, some Takumars) can catch the mirror at infinity.

Nikon F → Canon EF

Novoflex EOS/NIK · Fotodiox Pro NIK-EOS. 2.5 mm of room is enough for a plain ring. G-type lenses without an aperture ring need an adapter with its own iris lever.

Contax/Yashica → Canon EF

Leitax C/Y-EOS mount swap · Fotodiox C/Y-EOS. A favourite: only 1.5 mm thick, so buy a precise one. A few wide Distagons touch the mirror of full-frame EF DSLRs; no problem on cinema bodies.

Leitax R-EOS mount swap · Novoflex EOS/LER. Leitax replaces the bayonet outright, which holds far better than a ring. Some later ROM lenses need the contacts strip removed.

Mamiya 645 → Canon EF

Fotodiox Pro M645-EOS · Mirex tilt-shift M645-EOS. Plenty of room — enough for tilt-shift adapters.

Pentax K → Canon EF

Fotodiox PK-EOS. Works, but the protruding aperture lever can foul full-frame DSLR mirrors — many people trim it.

ARRI Standard-to-PL adapter. Same 52 mm flange distance, so the adapter is a simple sleeve — but most Arri Standard lenses were made for 16 mm or 35 mm Academy and may not cover Super 35.
