The cult Rokkor: 7 elements in 5 groups, close focus 0.6 m, and heavy at 455 g for the early MC I/II barrels or 478 g for the 1973 rubber-grip MC-X listed here. Early MC I and MC II copies are reported to use thoriated glass and often arrive with a yellow cast, which UV or strong LED light can reduce; the late rubber-grip version is the one usually described as free of it. Wide open it is soft and glowing with very smooth bokeh, which is exactly what people buy it for.

What it goes on

A plain MD adapter fits all mirrorless mounts. Canon EF needs a mount conversion rather than an adapter, since SR sits 0.5 mm shorter than EF. Check the rear element clearance before using it on a focal reducer.
