Minolta MD W.Rokkor 24mm f/2.8 (MD I/II, 55mm)

A 9-element, 7-group wide with a floating element for close range; the same basic design was supplied to Leitz for the Elmarit-R 24mm. The 55mm-filter MD W.Rokkor weighs 275 g, against 395 g for the first MC W.Rokkor-SI barrel and 215 g for the late 55mm MD II; the 1981 plain MD is a different 8-element lens with a 49mm thread. Minolta tuned colour rendition to match across the Rokkor line, which is a large part of its appeal for a budget video set.

What it goes on

The 43.5 mm SR flange is shorter than Canon EF, so there is no glassless EF adapter; it needs a corrective-glass adapter or a mount conversion. On E, L, Z, RF, X and MFT bodies a plain MD adapter works, and MD focal reducers are available for APS-C and MFT.
