The lens the Pentax 67 is famous for. Six elements in five groups and nine blades, unchanged optically through three barrels: Super-Takumar (1969), Super-Multi-Coated Takumar (1971, listed at 628g) and this final rubber-ringed version. The two Takumar generations used thoriated glass and turn yellow-brown; UV light clears them, while this last version swapped in non-radioactive high-index glass. Its shallow depth of field and soft roll-off on a large sensor is the reason it gets rehoused and adapted so often.

What it goes on

84.95mm flange goes onto any mount, PL included. A staple on Alexa 65/LF and RED Monstro VV for the large-format look, on tilt/shift adapters, and on Kipon Baveyes reducers where it behaves like a roughly 75mm f/1.7 on full frame. One metre close focus is the practical limit, so diopters or extension tubes are common.
