The compact M-series descendant of the seven-element Takumar 50/1.4, only 32mm long, with no thorium glass and therefore no yellowing. Character is close to the Takumar: a veil at f/1.4 that lifts by f/2 and round-ish highlights from eight blades. Plentiful and inexpensive, it is the easy way to get the Takumar look with clean glass and a bayonet mount.

What it goes on

45.46mm flange adapts to EF and all mirrorless mounts. The K aperture lever is spring-loaded closed, so the adapter has to push it open for the aperture ring to work; on full-frame EF bodies the lever guard may need trimming to clear the mirror.
