Covers full frame, which is a large part of why the set became so sought after for large-format digital. Aspherical design with strong veiling flare and low contrast wide open that tightens up by T2.8. Canon's 1970s answer to the Zeiss Super Speeds, recognised with an Academy Scientific and Technical award in 1977; the rehoused iris gives rounder bokeh than the originals. What it goes on

Most working sets are TLS rehousings in PL (110mm fronts, cam focus); GL Optics and P+S Technik have housed them too. Original barrels came in BNCR and Arri bayonet and were commonly PL-converted; being cine mounts they do not adapt usefully to stills bodies other than via PL adapters.
