Seven-element double-Gauss standard lens, compact at 250g. There is a veil of spherical aberration and lower contrast at f/1.4 that clears by f/2.8, after which it is neutral and sharp. Seven straight blades give heptagonal highlights when stopped down. Focus throw is about 140 degrees to a 0.45m close focus.

What it goes on

F-mount's 46.5mm flange takes a thin glassless adapter to Canon EF and adapts to every mirrorless mount; the aperture ring is fully mechanical and easy to de-click. The cheapest way into the set and easy to find; pairs well with a Speed Booster on S35/MFT. Permanent Leitax EF mount and standard cine-mod parts fit.
