Five-element telephoto with one ED glass element (marked by the gold ring) that strongly reduces colour fringing compared with the earlier non-ED 180. Sharp and contrasty from f/2.8 with 9 blades and a built-in hood. It focuses by moving the whole optical unit, so the barrel extends and the image breathes; throw is 190 degrees to 1.8m.

What it goes on

F-mount's 46.5mm flange takes a thin glassless adapter to Canon EF and adapts to every mirrorless mount; the aperture ring is fully mechanical and easy to de-click. No tripod collar, so at 800g it hangs off the mount; support it from the rods when adapted. Usually the long end of an AI-S cine set.
