A New FD-only design, six elements in four groups, regarded as one of the sharpest non-L FD primes. Less common than the 85 and 135, so matched sets often have to hunt for it. One metre close focus is typical of the era.

What it goes on

FD sits at a 42 mm flange, 2 mm shorter than EF, so a plain EF adapter loses infinity unless it carries a corrective glass element; the clean fix is a permanent mount swap (EdMika kits, also sold through Simmod). On Sony E, L, RF, Z, X and MFT bodies a simple tube adapter with an aperture-release ring works with no glass.

  EdMika FD-EF conversion kit (no glass). FD sits 2 mm closer than EF, so a plain adapter loses infinity and glass adapters soften the image. The accepted fix is replacing the mount (EdMika) — or using a mirrorless body, where FD adapts trivially.
