The widest rectilinear lens in the FD line, built around a ground aspherical element with a fixed petal hood. No front thread, so filtration is by rear gel holder only. It is the usual wide end of a matched FD L-series set and holds straight lines far better than the fisheye alternatives of the era.

What it goes on

Adapts to any mirrorless mount with a standard FD tube adapter; ND has to go behind the lens or in the camera because nothing screws onto the front. EF use means a mount conversion rather than a glassless adapter, since the FD flange is 2 mm shorter than EF.

  EdMika FD-EF conversion kit (no glass). FD sits 2 mm closer than EF, so a plain adapter loses infinity and glass adapters soften the image. The accepted fix is replacing the mount (EdMika) — or using a mirrorless body, where FD adapts trivially.
