A 9-element/8-group ultra-wide derived from the Zeiss Flektogon 20/4 concept, with a large bulging front element and a 6-blade iris. It focuses down to about 18 cm, which allows dramatic wide close-ups, and it flares and ghosts readily, especially the single-coated early copies. Filters are small M28x0.75 units that screw onto the rear; the lens shipped with a set of them. Production years are those quoted for the Mir-20 family, and published weights differ a lot between the early and MC versions, so none is given here.

What it goes on

Plain M42 adapter to EF or mirrorless; the 'M' version has an auto-aperture pin with an A/M switch on most copies, so set it to M or use a flanged adapter that presses the pin. Front filters are impractical, so plan on a clamp-on matte box or rear ND. It is the 20 mm in IronGlass' rehoused Soviet set (T3.6).
