The wide end of the set is the weakest for coverage: the Series II 18mm was computed for the Academy frame and darkens or clips the corners on Super 35, while the later retrofocus Series III version does better. Expect visible barrel distortion and soft, smeary edges wide open. Close focus, weight and front diameter are for the TLS rehousing, not the original barrel.

What it goes on

Almost always rented as a TLS rehousing in PL with a common 110mm front and cam-driven focus; P+S Technik and Zero Optik have also rehoused them. Loose originals are usually Arri Standard or Mitchell/BNCR mount; Arri-S copies adapt to mirrorless bodies with simple adapters, but the tiny original barrels have short focus throws and no gears.
