The kit normal of the 645 system, a simple 6-element/5-group double-Gauss that is tiny for a medium-format lens (about 220 g in N form, 250 g as the older C). Sharper and more contrasty wide open than the f/1.9, with neutral bokeh. It is the cheapest way into large-format coverage and a common starter lens for GFX and LF shooters.

What it goes on

Adapts glassless to EF and every mirrorless mount via the 63.3mm flange, aperture ring live on a plain adapter. A 0.7x reducer turns it into about a 56mm f/2 on full frame. Short focus throw and a light barrel mean a lens support is unnecessary but a focus gear is advisable.
