One optical formula (9 elements in 7 groups) ran through the whole R era, and it is a Minolta-originated design with a floating element, closely related to the Rokkor 24mm f/2.8. Filters are Series VIII held by the hood, with an internal 60mm thread on the barrel. It is softer in the corners than modern wides but matches the warm Mandler-era primes well, which is why it fills the 24mm slot in most R video sets.

What it goes on

Glassless adapters cover every mirrorless mount. On full-frame Canon EF bodies this is one of the R lenses reported to foul the mirror near infinity, so Leitax/EF users either trim the rear guard or use it on mirrorless and crop-sensor bodies instead.
